Delicious vegetarian restaurant located at the top of Jimingsi Temple. Lovely venue that overlooks the city walls and the lake. Not a very modern place but it sure does bring it back to how China once looked with their wooden foundation and dark brown chairs that matched the tables and the windows. Ordered at the entrance and got a plastic plaque which allowed me to pick any seat in the house after handing over my receipt to a fu-yen. The first two dishes that arrived were the goose and the vegetable noodle soup. Both costing 15¥ each. The goose noodle soup though is vegetarian, does a great imitation of what real meat tastes like. The vegetable noodle soup was just “alright.” Next was the black pepper beef(48¥). This was my absolutely favorite and it tasted exactly like beef but crispy and not dry at all. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Even if you’re not hungry and want something small, just get this alone. Lastly was the green pastry with sesame seeds(3 for 5¥). First bite didn’t impress me but it got pretty addictive after a while. It’s cold, soft, and sweet. I’d get it again. Overall, yes, I will definitely come back again!
